John Fitzgerald

JF.jpg

VMC Global ™ Certified Trainer

Lives in Los Angeles, USA

John Fitzgerald has worked for Remo for 23 years. As early as 1988, I am on a journey to facilitate drum circles in Japan. From that time on, he has known Japan's wonderful community of facilitators. Supporting the growing community of Japanese facilitators is incorporated as part of John's current work at Remo.

John Fitzgerald is a percussionist, organizing coach and workshop facilitator. As a certified VMCG trainer, he has been energizing and guiding rhythms in more than 12 countries for over 20 years. While his session is full of self-expression, good life and festivals, it deeply connects the participants' essential wisdom and soul.

During his 23 years as a manager of Remo's fun music activities, John has devoted himself to using rhythm for the good of the world and has educated him in that way. In addition to serving as a drum circle facilitator, he has trained facilitators and talked to people around the world about the educational benefits of using drums.

After graduating from the California Arts Institute (BFA1979) and completing Newfield Network Coaching Training (2004), John received coaching training at the Stridge Institute and earned a BeAbobe Ledership. John has, of course, completed a rhythm facilitation course, including VMC, HealthRhythms Rhytm2Recovery, Beat the Odds. John is a member of the International Coach Association, the Percussion Art Association, and the Drum Circle Facilitator Guild.

Towards the times: Facilitation that nurtures people's souls and possibilities

At the heart of being a DCF expert is the belief that rhythm can promote human potential. You can hear the human potential springing up through the groove on the drum circle. The potential of humans to create grooves is not limited to drum circles. The DCF creates the opportunity to challenge people, listen to beings much larger than themselves, and allow them the freedom to interact with themselves in new ways. Human potential goes beyond the groove. Entering 2021, we began to focus on the resurrection. Encouraging people to reach their potential beyond the groove has become more important than ever. Let's talk together how we can encourage people to come into contact with their potential.

In addition to his extensive musician learning and experience, Vasundura studied drum circle facilitation with Arthur Hull, the founder of the global drum circle movement, and also studied Health Rhythms with Christine Stevens. The role of voice and vibration for physical and mental health

Nada yoga is also known as voice yoga. Vasundra came to the study that the source of all creation in the world was "sound." The source of the sound is vibration, and we think that the strongest tool for experiencing the vibration is our own voice, and while playing the Indian folk instrument Tanpura, with the voice in a state of mindfulness. I will give a lecture on vibration. Last time, I gave a lecture on 5 basic breathing methods using Nashika Mudra. The music therapist who attended her Nada Yoga highly evaluated it as useful for the basics of vocalization in the elderly. This time, we will have you watch the video of the previous lecture "Breathing" in advance and proceed to the vocalization method that matches the chakra.

When attending a live performance, please prepare a chair that allows you to sit in a good posture.

Professor and workshop facilitator of the Tokyo Institute of Technology Liberal Arts Research and Education Institute.

Born in Tokyo in 1957. Graduated from the University of Tokyo. When I was a student, I traveled alone to Asia and Latin America. Aiming to change from the buoyant world, I got a job at an advertising company and struggled from the sales position. After studying organizational development at the California Institute for Integrated Studies (CIIS), where he took leave and studied abroad, he woke up to a participatory learning style called a workshop. After returning to Japan, while working at a company, he practiced many workshops to reconnect people to people, people to nature, people to himself, people to society, and facilitation courses to create participatory places.

He retired early in 2012 and became a professor at Doshisha University, and has been involved in liberal arts education at Tokyo Institute of Technology since 2015. In 2013, he participated in a three-day basic training held in Nakajima, Ehime Prefecture, on the island of the Seto Inland Sea, and met Arthur Hull.

Live & Dialogue

A session of singing and dialogue between participants. Original songs began to be born at the age of 57, and I am aiming to become a late-blooming singer-songwriter (laughs). As a faculty member of a national university of science and technology, he is in charge of classes such as communication theory as liberal arts (a technique to free people), and the use of songs is increasing.

Here, toward the overall theme of "drawing out the potential of human beings," I will introduce the song and background philosophy related to the title of my CD, "Let's keep up with my bliss," and all the participants raised the issue. Divide into breakout rooms so that small groups can talk. By repeating the live song and dialogue several times, I hope to deepen your "bliss" and what makes your body, mind, and soul really happy. I hope it will be a fun and deep place.

Course outline

Every gesture, every movement, every vocal sound is the door to creating and shaping music and the key to unleashing our creativity. Clap, stepping, singing, dancing, all these actions help us live the moment, listen deeply to ourselves, build relationships, and explore the inner and outer world around us. An amazing tool.

This seminar will focus on our body, the basic learning tool for us to live and interact with this world. We pay special attention to creating platforms and ways to help foster freedom of creativity.

Through the activities of Circular Music, discovering how the coordination of the body, musicality, sense of rhythm, and expression of voice affect the development of one's own cognition, emotions, and communication, and being deeply involved in oneself. I can do it.

The goal of this session is to provide tools to improve the musicality of communication, that ability of newborns to communicate with their mother before using words, voice dance, sensorimotor and emotional interaction between humans. There is in. This can help us improve our self-awareness, help ourselves, and contribute to our personal and professional life.

Think Arthur Hull-Rebuilding the Community with Rhythm

While the situation of coronavirus infections has improved, it is clear that those who are clamoring for essential face-to-face connections, those who are tired of the online format, are rushing into our community like a tsunami.

As drum circle facilitators, we have the tools to meet people's needs.

Our main goal is to bring out the potential of human beings through rhythm, but for those who plan and manage rhythm events as a professional and as a business, building a community is the next step.

If you haven't started building a community as a drum circle facilitator, now is your chance.

If you already have a relationship that allows you to interact with the drum circle participants, it's time to rebuild it.

To reconnect with the lost community in a cave-like situation.

The session will discuss the elements, activities and concepts that Uncle Arthur can use to rebuild the community through rhythm.

Tomoko Tomtom Yokota

VMC certified trainer

VMC Global Japan CEO

Lives in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture

Tomoko Yokota is a pioneer of Japanese drum circle facilitators. He studied under Arthur Hull in 2004 and deepened his learning through his training. We actively connect with facilitators in each country and work together. We are devoting our energy to building a community that is physically and mentally healthy, sharing the joy of making music together, overcoming cultural and language barriers.

She was invited to the 1st Asian Rhythm Facilitator Conference in Malaysia to present a drum circle for prenatal and postnatal women. In 2016, at the 3rd conference, we introduced the original program "Oto no Scenic" that incorporates melody into the rhythm. In May 2018, at the Daily Dose of Music symposium held in Vancouver, Canada, a participatory improvisational session for the elderly was announced. We continue to convey the power of rhythm with the concept of healing the mind, regaining the courage to live, and connecting with people.

It creates a circle of rhythm that extends from kindergarten to university, and students and students with learning disabilities also participate in that circle. It has also been successful in the medical and welfare field for working mothers and their children, the elderly and pregnant women in long-term care facilities. As part of corporate employee training, we also hold drum circles for the purpose of reducing stress.

Tom Tom makes use of his experience as an electone player to naturally fuse melody and rhythm, expanding the circle of rhythm / music, which is a universal language.
